War Mock Drill in India: The Home Ministry has called a high-level meeting before the mock drill. Chief Secretaries and senior officials of the states participated in the meeting. The strategy, coordination and security management of the mock drill were reviewed in the meeting.
After the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, the situation between India and Pakistan is extremely tense. Meanwhile, the Home Ministry has directed 244 civil defense districts of the country to conduct a war mock drill simultaneously. This mock drill will be held on May 7. In this, the districts have been divided into three categories. The most sensitive districts have been included in Category-1.
High level meeting held before mock drill
In this connection, an important meeting was held in the Home Ministry on Tuesday. In this meeting held in Delhi's North Block under the chairmanship of Home Secretary Govind Mohan, preparations for the mock drill to be held on May 7 and training of common citizens were discussed. Chief Secretaries and senior officials of the states participated in this high-level meeting. The purpose of the meeting was to review the strategy, coordination and security management of the mock drill.
This mock drill is being conducted after the year 1971
The mock drill was conducted in the country before the war in the year 1971. At that time the Indo-Pak war had taken place. Once again, the mock drill is being organised after India's aggressive attitude towards terrorist activities.
These districts of the country are the most sensitive
The 244 civil defence districts notified in 2010 were divided into three categories. 100 multi-hazard potential districts were selected. These include category A which includes Delhi (New Delhi and Cantonment), Mumbai, Chennai, Kota, Kalpakkam, Surat, Vadodara, Karapur, Uran, Tarapur, Talcher, Kota, Rawatbhata, Bulandshahr (Narora). These are highly sensitive and risky districts and places.
Mock drill will be conducted in all districts of UP
Uttar Pradesh Director General of Police (DGP) Prashant Kumar has given important information about the Civil Defense Mock Drill to be held on May 7. He said that as per the instructions received from the Government of India, 19 districts of Uttar Pradesh have been identified where this exercise is to be conducted. Of these, one district has been kept in category-A, two districts in category-C and the remaining districts in category-B.
